6.12 CHARGING BATTERY ______________________________________________________

WARNING
Charge battery in a well ventilated area. Batteries
generate explosive gases. To prevent an explosion,
keep any device that may create sparks or flames
away from the battery.
To prevent injury, stand away from battery when the
charger is turned on. A damaged battery could
explode.
6.13 JUMP STARTING __________________________________________________________
Before attempting to "jump start" the tractor, check the
condition of the battery.
1. Stop the engine on vehicle with good battery.
2. Connect RED jumper cable to the positive (+)
terminal on the good battery and to the positive (+)
terminal on the "discharged" battery.
6.14 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM ______________________________________________________
Always turn the ignition switch off and remove the
negative battery cable before checking connections or
wires.
1. Make certain all terminals and connections are kept
clean and properly secured.
2. Check the operator back-up system, fuses and circuit
breakers regularly.
3. If the operator back-up system (Section 4.2) does not
function properly or the problem cannot be corrected,
contact an Authorized Jacobsen Distributor.
6.15 TIRES ____________________________________________________________________
Keep tires properly inflated to prolong tire life and
maintain proper traction. Check inflation pressure while
the tires are cool. Inspect tread wear. Check tire pressure
with an accurate, low pressure tire gauge.
Keep tire inflation pressure between 69 - 83 kPa (10 -
12 psi)
