6.3 ENGINE _________________________________________________________________
IMPORTANT: A separate Engine Manual, prepared by the engine manufacturer, is supplied with this machine.
Read the engine manual carefully until you are familiar with the operation and maintenance of the engine.
Proper attention to the engine manufacturer's directions will assure maximum service life of the engine. To
order replacement engine manuals and parts contact the engine manufacturer.
The proper break-in of a new engine can make a
considerable difference to the performance and life of the
engine.
During
the
recommends the following:
1. Check the engine oil level twice daily during the first
50 hours of operation. Higher than normal oil con-
sumption is not uncommon during the initial break-in
period.
6.4 ENGINE OIL ______________________________________________________________
Check the engine oil at the start of each day, before
starting the engine. Screw oil dipstick all the way on when
checking level. Maintain oil level between FULL and ADD
marks on dipstick.
If the oil level is low, remove oil filler/dipstick and add oil
as required.

detailed service information.
After adding or changing oil, start and run engine at idle
for 30 seconds. Shut engine off. Wait 30 seconds and
check oil level. Add oil to bring up to FULL mark on
dipstick.
Gasoline Engine
Initial oil change after first 8 hours of operation.
Every 50 hours thereafter
API classification SF,SG,SH.
Above 5°C
0 to -18 to 25°C
Diesel Engine
Initial oil change after first 50 hours of operation.
Every 100 hours thereafter

2. Change engine oil and oil filter element after first 8
hours of operation.
3. Refer to Section 6.2 and Engine Manual for specific
maintenance intervals.
Note: The tractor is designed to operate most efficiently
at the preset governor setting. Do not change the engine
governor settings or overspeed the engine.
Oil Filter
Replace oil filter at each oil change. Before installing new
filter, lightly oil filter gasket with fresh, clean oil. Screw
filter on by hand until gasket contacts oil filter adapter.
Tighten 1/2 to 3/4 turn more. Start and run engine at idle
to check for leaks.
