2. Full-retarded position
1) It is unnecessary to adjust the ignition timing at
the full-retarded position, since it is automati-
cally adjusted when the timing at the full-
advanced position has been correctly set.
3. Ignition timing adjustment using a timing
light.

Be careful not to touch any rotating parts (such
as the C.D.I magneto rotor), C.D.I unit or ignition
coil while making the adjustment.

When checking ignition timing using a timing
light, be sure to replace the propeller with the
specified test propeller, and make tests with the
machine placed in a test tank.
1) Clip the timing light to the upper cylinder high-
tension wire.

NOTE:
If clipped to the lower cylinder high-tension wire, the
timing light will not work. Be sure to clip to the upper
cylinder high tension wire.
2) Start the engine, and fully advance the ignition
timing.
