Before Initial Use

CAUTION!
❐ Keep children and animals away from the packaging material. There is a danger of suffocation,
as well as other hazards!
❐ Make sure that the cable cannot touch the glass lid or the glass container when the device
is in operation.
❐ Do not leave the device switched on for longer than 10 minutes without any contents.
❐ First fold up the handle on the lid before you remove the lid from the glass container.
• Unpack the device, remove any fi lms and stickers that may be present and check the items
supplied for completeness (see the "Items Supplied and Device Overview" chapter) and pos-
sible transport damage. If you fi nd transport damage, do not use the device (!), but contact
the customer service department immediately.
• To remove any production residues and the inherent smell of the device, proceed as follows:
1. Wipe the glass lid and the heating element with a clean damp cloth.
2. Clean the glass container and the accessories with warm water and mild detergent. Apart
from the glass lid and the basket, you can also clean all parts in the dishwasher.
3. Dry all parts thoroughly.
4. Place the basket on a dry and heat-resistant, fl at surface a suffi cient distance away from
other objects (kitchen cupboards etc.).
5. Place the glass container into the basket.
6. Place the glass lid onto the glass container; leave the handle folded up.
7. Unwind the mains cable, fi rst connect it to the glass lid and then insert the mains plug into
a properly installed 220 - 240 volt socket with earthing contacts.
8. Set the temperature controller to the highest temperature and the time controller to
10 minutes.
9. Fold down the lid handle. Make sure that the handle locks in place correctly. The device
will then be switched on. After 10 minutes, it switches off automatically (see also the
"Use" chapter). During operation, make sure the room is well ventilated, e.g. with wide-
open windows, as a strange smell may be produced when you fi rst use the device.
10. Remove the mains plug from the mains socket.
11. After the device has switched off, allow it to cool down for around 10 minutes before
you remove the lid and place it down on a heat-resistant surface (e.g. a cold stovetop or
similar).
