Skin redness
Your skin may become red immediately after using the device or
within the next 24 hours. Any redness generally clears up within 24 hours.
If the redness does not go away after 2 to 3 days, consult your doctor.
Increased sensitivity of the skin
The treatment will make your skin more sensitive and you may therefore
experience dry, flaky skin for a while.
Pigment changes
The hair removal device targets the hair shaft, in particular the pigmented
cells in the hair follicle and the hair follicle itself. There is nevertheless a risk
of hyperpigmentation (increased pigment or brown discoloration) or hypo -
pigmentation (whitening) to the surrounding skin.
The risk of changes in skin pigmentation is higher for people with dark skin
color. Normally discoloration and changes to skin pigment are temporary and
permanent hyperpigmentation or hypopigmentation rarely occurs.
Excessive redness and swelling
In rare cases treated skin may become very red and swollen. This is more likely
to happen in sensitive parts of the body. Redness and swelling can be treated
by applying ice regularly to the affected area, and it should go away within
2 to 7 days. Gentle cleansing is fine, but sun exposure must be strictly avoided.
Skin wounds and burns
Very rarely, skin wounds and burns may occur after using the device.
