The measuring device must be
placed at right angles to the
direction of the wood grain at a
distance of 0.3 m from one of the
ends of the piece of timber.

If the sample piece is shorter than 0.6 m, the measurement
position is in the centre of the material being measured.
6. Reading the measured value
The upper display shows the moisture content of the wood in
%. Values from 5 to 50 % can be displayed. In the case of
moisture values under 5 %, "----" will be displayed, and in the
case of moisture values over 50 %, "50.0" will flash in the
display. The lower display shows the set wood temperature
(from 0 °C to 50 °C or 32 °F to 122 °F respectively).
