resistance principle) was set beforehand. Temperature compen-
sation can be set in individual steps of 1 °C or 2 °F respectively. The
temperature value set is shown in the lower display during the meas-
urement.
UNIT2: The unit of temperature compensation (°C / °F) can be set
with Unit2. The menu item "Unit2" can only be selected if sensor
mode 120 (wood moisture in accordance with the resistance prin-
ciple) was set beforehand.
Until they are changed again, all parameters set for the functions
of the lower menu remain active and are stored permanently in the
device, even when it is switched off or if the battery is replaced.

8. Measurement principle

In the measurement of moisture in accordance with the resistance
principle, an electrical current is generated which is passed through
the measured material with the aid of electrodes.
The higher the water content of the material being measured, the
lower the resistance, i.e. the higher the conductivity.
The measured resistance is therefore inversely proportional to the
amount of water present.
If the material being measured has a high resistance, the moisture
content is low. If it has a low resistance, the moisture content is high.
