Basic Settings

Measurement modes

continuous mode: it may sometimes be advantage-
ous not to remove the sensor between measurements
but to perform a continuous measurement . The mea-
surements are not acknowledged by a short beep in
this mode . All measurements performed in this mode
are automatically stored in the stastistics program,
provided that there is sufficient memory space .
single mode: Each measurement is acknowledged by
a short beep . All measurements are stored automati-
cally as in continuous mode . Please make sure that
there is sufficient memory space .
Sensor mode employed
The sensor can operate in three modes .
Auto: The sensors can automatically select the mode
of operation . If the sensor is held against a magnetic
substrate, it works according to the magnetic induc-
tion principle and if it is held against non-ferrous me-
tals, it works according to the eddy current principle.
Units
You can choose between metric (µm, mm) and impe-
rial units of measurement (mils) .
If the appliance is in "µm" mode, it switches automati-
cally to "mm" if the value exceeds 850 µm . Further in-
formation can be found in the section "technical data" .

Reset

A reset deletes all data in all memories, inclu-
ding all data in all working modes and the asso-
ciated statistical, calibration and limit values.
