4.9 Energy / ECO Mode
Your appliance is equipped with a modern, programmable power saving function
(ECO Mode). It means that the appliance turns to power-saving ECO Mode (with mini-
mal heat output = using less electricity) 3 minutes after it last has been used (factory-
set). When the appliance is started again from ECO Mode, the heating up can take a
few seconds longer.
The ECO Mode can be deactivated for the appliance to be on full stand-by while swit-
ched on:
• Press the programming button P in order to start program mode.
• Press the > button until the display shows eco-mode
• Press the ok button.
• Press the > button until you see no in the display.
• Confirm with the ok button. Display shows eco-mode
• From this point you can go directly to programming other settings or use the exit
button to leave program mode.
5. Maintenance and care
5.1 Filter use

Please read chapter 4.2 Filter on filter use.
5.2 Changing filter
The effectiveness of the filter is exhausted after about 50 l of water. CHANGE filter
appears in the display alternating with the normal operating message and the service
button (2) blinks.
TIP: Press the service button only when you want to change the filter.

You can continue to brew coffee or draw hot water and steam. However, we
recommend that you change the filter immediately.
• Empty the water tank (17) and change the filter.
• Fill the tank with freshwater and put it back into the coffee machine.
• Press the service button (2). The display shows CHANGE filter / TURN valve.
• Hold a receptacle under the steam-hot water jet (12) and turn the steam/hot water
dial (11) to the right. The system will be rinsed.
• Wait until no more water comes out of the jet and then turned the dial (11) back to
the left.
• The system is ready for operation and the normal message for brewing coffee
appears on the display.
