First test your water with the included test strip:
• Insert to strip into the water briefly and shake excess water off.
• After about one minute, you can read the result from the red dots.
• The following can be used to interpret the reading:
– 1 red dots
– 2 red dots = 8–14° dH / 12.7–25.2°fH = Level 2
– 3 red dots = 15–21° dH / 25.3–37.8°fH = Level 3
– 4 red dots = > 21° dH / > 37.8°fH = Level 4

Set your coffee machine to level 1 if no dots turn red.
The basic factory setting is level 3.
• Press the programming button P in order to start program mode.
• Press the > button until the display shows W.HARDness. (This will not appear if the
filter is set to yes; see chapter 4.2.)
• Press the ok button.
• Press the > button until you see the level you want in the display.
• Confirm with the ok button. The display will now show W.HARDness.
• From this point you can go directly to programming other settings or use the exit
button to leave program mode.
4.4 Temperature
You can change the desired temperature of the brewed coffee to NORMAL, HIGH or
MAXIMUM. The factory setting is HIGH.
• Press the programming button P in order to start program mode.
• Press the > button until the display shows TEMPerature.
• Press the ok button.
• Press the > button until see the setting you want in the display.
• Confirm with the ok button. The display will now show TEMPerature.
• From this point you can go directly to programming other settings or use the exit
button to leave program mode.
4.5 Automatic Switch off
This function allows you to program when the coffee machine should automatically
turn off after the last use. The factory setting is 0.5 hrs.
• Press the programming button P in order to start program mode.
• Press the > button until the display shows TIMES.
• Press the ok button. Display shows Unit off after

• Press the > button until the desired number of hours (0.5-12 hours are possible)
appear.
• Confirm with the ok button. The display will now show unit off after.
• By pressing the exit key, you go directly to the program mode TIMES.
• From this point you can go directly to programming other settings or use the exit
button to leave program mode.
