Rinsing filter by hand

You must change the filter after two months of the latest even when your coffee
machine is used just a little. You will not see a message in the display, and you
must rinse the new filter by hand.

You can set the replacement date using the special indicator on top of the filter.
• Empty the water tank (17) and change the filter.
• Fill the tank with freshwater and put it back into the coffee machine.
• Press the programming button P in order to start program mode.
• Press the > button until the display shows FILTER.
• Press the ok button. Diplay shows filter yes
• Press the ok button. The display shows manual change filt.
• Confirm with the ok button.
• The display shows change filter / TURN valve alternatively.
• Hold a receptacle under the steam-hot water jet (12) and turn the steam/hot water
dial (11) to the right. The system will be rinsed.
• Wait until no more water comes out of the jet and then turned the dial (11) back to
the left.
• The system is ready for operation and the normal message for brewing coffee
appears on the display.

5.3 Cleaning program

If the coffee machine needs to be cleaned, PLEASE CLEAN appears in the display alter-
nating with the normal operating message and the service button (2) blinks.
TIP: Press the service button only when you want to start cleaning.

You can continue to brew coffee or draw hot water and steam. However, we
recommend that you run the cleaning program as soon as possible.
Caution: You may not interrupt the cleaning program.
• Press the service button (2). The display shows EMPTY trays alternating with FILL WATER.
• Remove the drip tray (9b) and the water tank (17) and clean everything.
• Fill the tank with fresh water and replace it as well as the tray .
• The coffee machine will rinse briefly. The display shows CLEANing TAB INto powder
shaft.
• Place a cleaning tablet into the drawer for coffee grounds (20) and close the cover.
The display shows press s key.
• Press the service button (2).
TIP: Place a sufficiently large receptacle (ca. 0.5 l) under the coffee outlet (8).
• The coffee machine starts with the cleaning process.
• The cleaning process runs automatically and lasts about 10 minutes. The display
shows EMPTY trays.
• Empty the drip tray (9b) and insert it again.
• Fill the water tank (17) with fresh water again if necessary.
• The coffee machine will heat up briefly and then is ready for operation.
