Any modifications may result in the BioSonic
WARNING!
US200 Ultrasonic Scaler malfunctioning
or cause a hazardous situation . However,
ultrasonic inserts (both 25 kHz and 30 kHz)
manufactured by Cavitron and Hu-Friedy may
also be used .
• Failure to inspect prior to use as instructed
per this manual may lead to risk of patient
or user injury, and may result in loss of
functionality and delay of treatment .
• Inspect unit for any evidence of water leaks,
such as pooled water and dripping, prior to
turning device on and beginning procedure .

RISK OF LACERATION:
• Avoid contact of the scaler insert tip and the
tooth or soft tissue . Direct the tip away from
root surfaces and use side of scaler insert
only . Failure to properly place insert prior to
activation may lead to an increased risk of
laceration .
• Periodically check and inspect the handpiece
and base unit for damage or wear . If excessive
wear is evident, or the insert has been bent,
discard the insert immediately . It may break
during use .
• The scaling process carries the potential
risk for aerosol transmission of infection . Be
sure to follow appropriate infection control
procedures as recommended by health
authorities . Please refer to Section IV of this
guide for Infection Control guidelines .
• Use retraction to protect the tongue, cheek
and lips when thescaler is in use to avoid
contact between the two .
RISK OF ELECTROMAGNETIC INTERFERENCE:
•Radiation interferes with operation of
implanted medical devices such as
pacemakers, causing chest pain and
shortness of breath .
• Use of this device adjacent to or stacked with
other equipment should be avoided because
it can result in improper operation .
• Use of accessories and cables other than
those provided by the manufacturer
of this device could result in increased
electromagnetic emissions or decreased
electromagnetic immunity of this device and
result in improper operation .
