Owner's Guide
To reduce the risk of minor burns or tempera-
ture-related discomfort to the patient or user:
• Do not operate the unit without water or

with too little water .
• Use cold (5-25°C) (41 -77°F) water only .
• Do not touch the metal working tip of an
activated insert with bare hands .
• Do not operate the device for more than 4
minutes on and less than 1 . 5 minutes off
To reduce the risk of electric shock or loss of
functionality:
• Do not modify the power cord .
WARNING!
• Do not immerse the unit in water .
• Use of a Ground Fault Circuit Interrupt
electrical outlet is recommended .
To reduce the risk of water-borne illness:
• Flush water supply to this device regularly .
WARNING!
To reduce the risk of cross-contamination:
Remove the sterilizable handpiece sheath
and all ultrasonic inserts after use . Clean and
sterilize between each patient, according to
the instructions for use .
• Persons fitted with cardiac pacemakers or
any other intra-corporeal active medical
device (e . g . insulin pump, defibrillator, etc . )
have been cautioned that some types of

electronic equipment might interfere with
the operation of such devices . It is recom-
mended that the handpiece and cables
be kept at least 6 in (15 cm) away from any
pacemaker or pacemaker leads during use .
Clinicians should contact the pacemaker
manufacturer or the patient's primary
physician for detailed information about the
pacemaker .

• During boil-water advisories, this product
should not be operated as an open water
system (i . e . connected to a public water

system) . A Dental Healthcare Professional
should disconnect the system from the
central water source . When the advisory is
cancelled, flush all incoming waterlines from
the public water system (e . g . faucets, water-
lines and dental equipment) in accordance
with the manufacturer's instructions for a
minimum of 5 minutes .
• Use of the BioSonic US200 Ultrasonic Scaler
may irritate demineralized tooth structure,
hypersensitive areas, veneers, cast crowns
and implants .
• Use of the BioSonic US200 Ultrasonic Scaler is
only intended to function as intended by the
manufacturer .
Observe the following to avoid damaging the
device or impairing performance:
• Do not restrict air flow .
• Provide adequate ventilation .
• Do not subject unit to shock or impact .
• Do not place the unit on or next to a radiator
or other heat source .
• Do not attempt to sterilize the handpiece
cord and core assembly . Only the handpiece
sheath may be sterilized .
• Do not use petroleum based solvents, iodo-
phors or phenolic based products . (iodo-
phors and phenolics can stain the surface of
the unit . ) Clean up all liquid spills immedi-
ately .
