electronic controller for vapor recovery is used as intended in accor-
dance with the specified application conditions.
The warranty extends only to defects in the electronic con-
troller for vapor recovery Type 1094 EV and its components.
We accept no liability for any kind of collateral damage
which could occur due to failure or malfunction of the
device.

5. sysTEM dEscripTiOn
5.1. general description of the
application area
When a vehicle is refueled, the gasoline flowing into the tank displaces
an equal volume of gasoline vapor out of the tank. To prevent this gas-
oline vapor from escaping into the atmosphere, it must be extracted.
In the solution offered by Bürkert this extraction process utilizes
underpressure via an upstream proportional valve in the reservoir
tank of the gasoline pump.
5.2. The principle of vapor recovery
An extraction pump conveys the gasoline vapor out of the vehicle
tank and forces it into the reservoir tank of the gasoline pump.
To prevent overpressure in the reservoir tank, the volume balance
between the delivered gasoline and the returned gasoline vapor
must be equalized.
The amount of gasoline added to the vehicle tank is measured via
a calibrated piston meter in the gasoline pump, converted by the
gasoline pump computer into clock signals and signaled to the
electronic controller which then equalizes the volume balance via a
proportional valve.
