12.5 Suppplementary Safety Instructions for Drilling/Milling Machines
Use collets or a vice to prevent the workpiece from turning when drilling or cutting. This is

safer than holding the workpiece by hand and leaving your hands free to operate the
machine.
Make sure that the drill or cutting tool is securely locked in the chuck.

Make sure that the chuck key has been removed from the chuck before turning on the
power.
Adjust the table or depth stop to avoid drilling into the table.

For your own safety, do not wear gloves when drilling/milling.
•
Turn off the power, remove the twist drill or cutting tool and clean the table before leaving
•
the machine.
12.6 Hazard Warnings
Despite their intended use, certain residual risks remain. Due to the design and construction of
the machine, hazardous situations may occur when handling the machines, which are identified
as follows in these operating instructions:

Irrespective of all safety regulations, your common sense and appropriate technical
suitability/training are and will remain the most important safety factor for error-free operation of
