16.2.2 Changing the gear oil
1.
Turn the drilling head to the position shown in the figure above.
2.
Place a collecting tray under the gearhead.
3.
Loosen the oil drain plug.
4.
Unscrew the plug and allow the oil to drain completely into the drain pan.
5.
Close the outlet again with the oil drain plug and turn the drilling head back to its original
position.
6.
Open the oil filler plug.
7.
Fill in fresh oil up to the mark.
8.
Close the oil filler hole again.
16.2.3 Tension the return spring
The tension of the spring to return the feed spindle is preset at the factory. Adjustment should
only be made when absolutely necessary. Adjustment may be necessary, for example, if a multi-
spindle drilling or tapping head is used.
When adjustment is required:
1.
Loosen the clamping screw while holding the housing of the tension spring. (Make sure that
the spring housing does not rotate in your hand, otherwise the spring will unwind.)
2.
Turn the entire housing clockwise and increase the spring tension until the sleeve returns to
its upper position as desired. (Note: The flattening of the spring seat guide is aligned with
the opening of the spring loading on the body of the spring seat. By readjusting the
clamping screw, the tip of the screw can be adapted to the shaft seat.)

CLEANING, MAINTENANCE, STORAGE, DISPOSAL
Activity
Lubricate bearings, gear wheels, gear racks with a
commercially available, acid-free grease (e.g. plain
bearing grease).
Lubricate the spline shaft drive unit twice a year
with a high-quality grease.
Lubricate all bare metal surfaces.
Check the horizontal position; oil the clamps of the
table height adjustment.
Change oil
Clean the rack.
Tension the return spring.
Adjust the bearing clearance of the spindle bearing.
