13. If the anchorage device is intended to stop
an operator from falling, the operator must use
a fall arrest system in accordance with EN 363.
This system must guarantee a fall arrest force of
less than 6 kN. If the anchoring device is intend-
ed exclusively to limit the operator's movement
out of areas at risk of falling, the operator can
connect using a lanyard without a fall arrest sys-
tem in accordance with EN 363. In this case, the
anchoring device will be referred to as "restricted
access".
14. The installation of an anchoring device must
be carried out, by appropriate means, in safety
conditions that fully control the risks of falling in-
curred by the installer due to the configuration
of the site.
15. The operator of the anchorage device must
check and ensure the constant compliance of
this anchorage device, and that of the PPE as-
sociated with it, with the safety requirements and
the rules and standards applicable in this field.
He must ensure the compatibility of the associ-
ated PPE with each other and with the anchoring
device.
16. Before using an EN 363 fall-arrester device,
the operator must ensure that each of the com-
ponents is in good working condition: security
system, locking system. When setting up, it is
essential to ensure that no deterioration of the
safety functions occur.
When using a fall arrest system, it is essential
to check the clear space under the operator at
the workplace before each use, so that in the
event of a fall there is no risk of collision with the
ground or presence of an obstacle on the path
of the fall.
18. An EN 361 fall arrest harness is the only
body gripping device that is permitted to be used
in a fall arrest system.
19. It is essential for the safety of the operator
that the device or anchoring point is correctly
positioned and that work is carried out so as to
minimise the risk of falls from height.
