4. START-UP
4.1. Pre-checks
Bleed the system of air and charge the pumps and the water system. It is very
important that before starting any equipment, it is carefully checked that the entire
suction line is perfectly filled with water and free of air. Check that the suction valves
are fully open and the pump bodies are completely filled; for this purpose the pumps
have a bleed plug located at the top of the hydraulic part.
In closed-circuit installations, it must be checked that there is no air at any point in the
system, and it must always be vented from the highest point of the installation*.
During the venting process, valves and vent plugs must be opened slowly, taking special care not to direct
the liquid at persons or electrical equipment.
Check that the selector switches on all pumps are in the -0- stop position on boosters
fitted with a control panel.
Check the supply voltage again and make sure that it matches the voltage of the booster,
as indicated on the information plates.
Check that the membrane tank (if present) has been properly pre-charged with air
according to the type of control and setting of the booster and that the isolation valve
is fully open.
