d) Important information about taking measurements
•
The laser must be pointed at the area you want to measure. There must be no objects in the
laser's direct measuring line.
•
The device compensates the measurement for different room temperatures. Briefly allow the
device to adjust to the ambient temperature, especially when moving between measurement
sites with large temperature differences.
•
The device can only be used in outdoor areas in certain conditions and cannot be used in
strong sunlight.
•
Outdoor measurements can be influenced or distorted by rain, fog and snow.
•
In unfavourable conditions (e.g. poorly reflective surfaces) , the maximum deviation may
be greater than 3 mm.
•
Carpets, cushions or curtains do not reflect the laser optimally. Take measurements on level
surfaces.
•
Measurements made through glass (window panes) may distort the measurement results.
e) Triggering a measurement
•
To measure a distance (single measurement), point the laser beam at the desired point on a
level, non-reflective surface. The device will measure the direct or shortest distance between
this surface and the device.
Press and hold the red DIST button (9) for approx. 1 second to switch on the laser.
•
Hold the device still and press the red DIST button to take a measurement. The device will
•
beep to indicate that a measurement has been taken. The measurement is now complete
and the result will appear on the LCD display. After each further measurement, the last two
measured values will be shown in the row above (in the display area next to (e)). Measure-
ments are stored in the memory.
•
If you have taken several measurements, the most recent measurement will be shown in the
bottom row (in the display area next to (f)).
f) Deleting measurements
•
To delete the last measurement, briefly press the OFF/C button (1).
•
The displayed measurement will be reset. Press this button repeatedly to delete other previ-
ously measured values.
