Contraindications:
•
Do not use on open wounds with swelling
•
Do not use if the area where the orthosis is placed is infected.
•
Do not use in the case of skin allergies due to contact with biocompatible materials.
•
Do not use if the area starts to redden and/or becomes excessively hot.
Precautions:
•
Read these instructions carefully before using the orthosis. If you have any questions, consult
your doctor or the shop where you purchased it.
•
For the orthosis to serve its purpose, it must be correctly adjusted to the patient's morphology.
The first fitting and adjustment must be carried out by qualified personnel (doctor, orthopaedic
technician, etc.).
•
The general instructions of use and specific indications determined by the doctor should always
be followed.
•
Only a doctor is qualified to prescribe treatment and determine its duration and monitoring.
•
If you notice any side effects, skin conditions or sensitisation, consult your doctor immediately.
•
Your doctor might consider the use of topical creams in conjunction with the orthosis.
•
In areas of support where pressure is applied, the skin should not be damaged or hypersensitive.
•
Although the orthosis is not for single use, it should only be used by one patient. The product
should not be reused by other patients.
•
For the orthosis to function properly, its components must be regularly checked to ensure that
they are in good condition. The medical staff responsible for monitoring treatment may explain
the suitability of the product to the patient or suggest its replacement if it is damaged or worn.
•
Make sure that the quick Velcro fasteners are free from fluff and lint to ensure that their closure
properties are preserved.
•
Some of the materials that make up the product are not flame retardant. Therefore, its use is not
recommended in environments with excessive heat, fire or radiation.
•
Clean the product regularly and maintain proper hygiene.
•
Ask your doctor if you can remove the orthosis when bathing or showering. If you cannot, make
sure you cover it or keep it away from the water.
•
Do not let children play with this device.
Instructions for proper fitting:
•
Select the right size by measuring the patient's wrist circumference. Excessive compression can
cause discomfort. We recommend adjusting the compression until a comfortable fit is achieved.
The palmar and thumb splints are supplied pre-formed but can be adjusted. If necessary, remove
the splints and adjust them according to the anatomy of the area to be treated.
•
Open the Velcros and slide the hand and/or thumb into the brace. The palmar splint should be
positioned so that it immobilises the flexion of the hand with respect to the forearm. With the
thumb splint, loosen the straps and slide the hand and thumb into the brace. It is possible to
shape the aluminium stays inserted around the thumb.
•
Once the hand is positioned, fasten the Velcros and straps starting from the proximal to the distal.
*AM205G: the palmar strap can be cut to fit the patient's size if necessary (see pictures)
Product maintenance - washing instructions:
To clean the fabric parts, close the hook-and-loop self-fasteners, remove the extractable splints and
wash by hand with a neutral detergent (max. 30°C). Do not use bleach. Do not expose to direct heat
sources such as stoves, heaters, radiators, direct sunlight, etc. To clean the splints and metal plates,
use a damp cloth and then dry.
NOTE:
Any serious incident involving the product must be reported to the manufacturer and to the
competent authority of the Member State where the user and/or patient is located.
