Sensor Technical Data
The measurements are then sent to the gateway using a low energy wireless
protocol.
How Sensor works
The digitized vibration measurements are processed either as overall values or as raw
data.
The gateway can be triggered from Accelix™ to instruct the sensor to record a time
waveform signal. This raw signal is then transferred via the gateway and back to the
Data Platform.
Another portion of the raw signal is converted to overall values, then compared with
the overall threshold values. The gateway will then send a request to the sensor to
transfer the overall values causing the alarm signal.
If there is no alarm signal, the overall values are saved in the sensor.
This broadband overall measurement is referred to as screening measurement, and is
triggered within the sensor to be carried out after a set number of minutes, say every
10 minutes.
Hardware Description
The base of the sensor comprises four strong magnets, which are used to attach the
sensor to a specially designed mounting adapter.
The top of the sensor has an LED that shows the wireless connection status between
the sensor and the gateway.
The sensor is powered using six 3.6 V 1/2 AA lithium batteries (use LS 14250 from
Saft) where one battery is a standby battery. The standby battery is used in case
the capacity of the five main batteries falls below required level. When this switch
point occurs, the sensor LED blinks red slowly. On eMaint condition monitoring, a
notification is sent to indicate that the reserve battery is in use. At this stage, all six
batteries must be replaced at the same time.
