Intended use
The OneTouch Verio Flex
is intended to be used for the quantitative measurement of
glucose (sugar) in fresh capillary whole blood samples drawn
from the fingertip. The system is intended to be used by a
single patient and should not be shared.
The OneTouch Verio Flex
System is intended for self-testing outside the body (in vitro
diagnostic use) by people with diabetes at home and with
their healthcare professionals in a clinical setting as an
aid to monitor the effectiveness of diabetes control. The
OneTouch Verio Flex
not to be used for the diagnosis of or screening of diabetes or
for neonatal use.
Test principle
Glucose in the blood sample mixes with the enzyme
FAD-GDH (see page 82) in the test strip and a small electric
current is produced. The strength of this current calculates
your blood glucose level. It then displays the blood glucose
result and stores it in the meter memory.
Use only OneTouch Verio
with the OneTouch Verio Flex
Test Strips with meters for which they are not intended may
yield inaccurate results.
