AUTOMATIC WHEEL BALANCER 3D DIGITAL DISPLAY
EQ 2100
+LASER POINTER
Commissioning and calibration :
When the balancer is put into operation for the first time, the machine must be calibrated as
described in the machine's manual. If after the calibration the balancing machine does not take the
correct values during the automatic measurement, the measuring pins must be calibrated.
To do this, enter the service menu of the machine by pressing the F+P3 keys simultaneously, the
machine then displays SER SER on the screen (this indicates that we are in the service menu of
the machine), then press the P1 key.
From this point on we are in the pig calibration menu.
Navigate through the menu with the (+) and (-) keys.
- Once in the DIS menu, press the P1 key to enter the program. The machine emits a continuous
beep, move the offset pin until it comes into contact with the rim, compare the measurement
indicated on the screen of the machine with that indicated by the offset pin (simple visual reading).
The two should match. Put away the offset pin and press the P1 key again to exit the program.
This pin does not need to be adjusted, just visually checked.
- Go to the LAR menu and press P1 to enter the program. The value indicated on the screen is the
rest value of the pin and NOT the value that is recorded as the zero position of the pin. Place the
stylus at 1.66 and confirm the recording by pressing the P2 key, a beep indicates that the machine
has recorded the value.
Press the P1 key to exit the program, then look for the RET menu and validate with the P1 key, you
then return to the SER menu, press F+P3 to exit the SERVICE menu.
Now carry out a test of the ribbing to check that the machine is taking the correct width value.
It is important to know that an offset of 0.2 (e.g. rim width 6, value given by the machine 6.2) is
acceptable and will have no influence on the balancing.
If the width value is not correct, repeat the procedure increasing by 0.1 point each time (EX: 1.66-
1.67).
- Go to the DIA menu and press the P1 key to enter the program.
The value indicated on the screen is the rest value of the rod and NOT the value recorded as the
zero value of the rod. Bring the plunger to a value of 1.04 and confirm by pressing the P2 key. A
beep indicates that the machine has saved the value.
Press the P1 key again to exit the program. Find the RET menu and press P1 to exit the menu. The
machine displays SER, press F+P3 to exit the SERVICE menu.
Carry out a test to determine the diameter. If the machine indicates a larger diameter, you must
increase the value of the DIA pin (e.g. 1.04-1.05). If the machine indicates you a lower diameter it
will be necessary to decrease the value of the pin of DIA (Ex: 1.04-1.03).
Repeat the operation until you obtain the right diameter during the automatic measurement,
there should be no difference between the diameter value of the rim and the value taken by the
machine.
