1 Connect the main air tubing to the swivel.
2 Adjust the headgear Velcro
the headgear can be pulled freely over your
head.
3 Seat the mask cushion over your nose and
mouth. The cushion should rest on your chin
and between your eyebrows.
4 Pull the headgear over your head (Fig. C-1).
Make sure the side lower straps pass below
your ears, and that the side upper straps pass
over your forehead.
5 Tighten the side lower (Fig. C-2) and then
the side upper (Fig. C-3) straps to achieve a
secure and comfortable fit.
6 Adjust the top strap (Fig. C-4) with very
slight tension to add stability to the fit of the
mask. The mask should be secure but not
overly tight.
7 The fitted mask should look like this
(Fig. C-5).
Note:
The top of the mask frame should not
touch your forehead. In most cases, the top of
the mask frame should be some distance away
from your forehead.
8 Connect the free end of the air tubing to
your flow generator and turn the flow
generator on. If you feel air leaks around the
cushion, reposition the mask on your face to
achieve a better seal. You may also need to
readjust the Velcro straps.
Take time to adjust the Velcro straps and the
position of the mask to achieve a
comfortable and secure fit.
