6.2 Installing the mounting plate

Always install the dome using the supplied mounting plate. Position the mounting plate on the ceiling in a
location that ensures the dome has an unrestricted view and mark out the four screw holes with a pencil or
suitable marker. Ensure that subsequent drilling will not penetrate and weaken structural components of the
building, electrical cabling or portions of the building's plumbing installation.
If intending to install the dome with surface run wiring, please refer to the following section section entitled

Installation with surface run wiring

If the mounting surface is plaster, concrete or masonry, drill 4 x Ø6.0mm holes. If the mounting surface is timber
or sheet metal, drill 4 x Ø2.0mm holes and thoughtfully discard the plastic screw-plugs.
If the dome wiring is run behind the mounting surface, drill a hole in the centre of the template that is sufficiently
large to pass the site camera cabling. Draw the camera wiring through the hole in the centre of the mounting
plate.
If mounting on concrete or plaster, insert the four screw-plugs into the drilled holes and secure the mounting-
plate using the four supplied screws. Ensure the mounting plate is correctly orientated.
If the mounting surface is not conducive to using the supplied fixing hardware, please ensure that the screws
used to secure the mounting-plate are sufficiently substantial to securely retain the complete product and that
the screw heads do not protrude more than 1.0mm above the surface of the mounting plate. Ensure that the
fixed wiring is not pinched or damaged when fixing the mounting plate in position.
Go to section entitled Switch settings.
6.3 Installation with surface run wiring
When intending to install the dome with surface run wiring, it is suggested to commence the installation of the
wiring at the dome with either CAT-5 cabling or install an additional junction box in which the supplied pigtail
cable can be connected to the fixed wiring of the installation.
Two additional rubber feet are supplied with the dome to facilitate feed-through of the dome wiring when it is to
be installed with surface run wiring.
To terminate the surface wiring within the dome it is necessary to remove the base-plate.
