2. Field of application
The AL-KO cable winch is suitable for lifting, raising
and pulling of various loads without jerking.
AL-KO cable winches can be used for different
purposes.
The manufacturer or user must check which regula-
tions are applicable to these different purposes.
I.e. the PURCHASER OF THE CABLE WINCH MUST
CHECK whether the product has the properties to
meet with his individual requirements.

3. Safety Information
- Not tested for building hoists (VGB35)
- Not suitable for continuous operation
- Not approved for stages and studios (VGB 70)
- Not approved for lifting cages for
carrying persons (ZH 1/461)
- Not approved for motor-driven operation!
Friction disk brake:
Minimum tractive force for perfect brake
function: 25daN (kg). If this minimum load does
not exist the braking function does not take place!
- Only touch the wire cables when wearing
protective gloves!
- The cable (belt) must only be wound up so far
under load that a flanged wheel overhang of at
least 1.5 x cable diameter is guaranteed (Fig 2).

Only cables/belts that meet these requirements may be used!
- The cable must remain wound round the
drum at least twice under load (Fig 3).
- Do not oil or grease the brake mechanism!
- Keep the cable (without load) under slight
tension when winding it up.
901A cable winch: Automatic unwinding!
- The crank must only be inserted in the
handle for unwinding the cable without
load (Fig. 4).
- If used with load, the crank must remain
on the drive shaft to prevent the friction
disk brake from slackening.
