4.1.2 Mounting positions

The flowmeter can be mounted in the following ways to obtain an accurate flow measure-
ment although the piping should be designed to ensure that the pipe is main tained full at
all times to avoid inaccurate measurement.
Mounting horizontally
Mounting vertically
- When mounting vertically ensure that the flow direction is in an
upward direction as indicated by the arrow.
- Always mount the flowmeter upstream a possible injection point in
the pipe of a high conductivity product (acid, base, saline,...).
It is advisable to mount the flowmeter at a 45° angle to the
horizontal centre of the pipe as shown in the diagram to
avoid having deposits on the electrodes and false
mea sure ments due to air bubbles.
