Minimum age
Operate the machine can only people 16+ years old.
Exception is made when using by youths during the
occupational training to achieve exact skills under the
supervision of a trainer.
Training
There is a corresponding course needed only to operate
this machine. No special training is necessary.
Commissioning
1.
Check the machine before first start for the proper
installation of electrical devices and fixed points at
clamping spots. Cables might get loose during the
transport and there can an accident occur.
2.
All conduct surfaces and metal parts are greased
before transport to avoid corroding process. Remove
this anti-corrosion agent using kerosene or cleaning
gasoline. Let it to dry and then oil the conduction with
anoil for conduct surfaces.
3.
Clean up the gear devices in the spindle and other
devices by using kerosene or by cleaning gasoline
and after it is dry fill it up with lubrication oil.
-
use non-felted cloth for drying
-
dispose the old lubricants, cleansing lotions
and dissolvent
4.
Check all operation units for smooth operation,
longitudinal and cross leads of longitudinal, cross and
top slides for smooth motion without allowance. If
there is extensive allowance on the lead, they drag or
get jammed, so adjust them by using adjusting strip
and pressure knobs.
5.
Check the installation of electrical devices of the
machine and fixed points at clamping spots before
first start.
6.
All guards and safety devices must be installed
before the first start.
7.
Set lowest revolutions of the spindle before first start
and let it run for at least 20 min. load free. Check the
bearings etc. for overheating and function sequence,
strange noise, etc. If everything is running without
problems, you can increase revolutions to maximum.
8.
Lubricate all lubrication places, holes and surfaces
with lubrication oil.
Adjustment (pict.1, 2 a 3)
Changing of chuck jaw
Chuck jaws (2/22) are marked by numbers from 1 to 3 and
shall be inserted into the 3-jaw chuck one by one (2/23).
Insert a jaw chuck key (1/4) into the clamping bolt of
3-jaw chuck (2/23) and release the chuck jaw by
turning it to the left (2/22).
Insert a chuck jaw marked by number 1 into the one
of chuck jaw lead and press in the middle of the 3-jaw
chuck (2/23).
Turn the jaw chuck key (1/4) to the left so the chuck
jaw will slide a little into the direction of 3-jaw chuck
(2/23).
Insert then chuck jaw number 2 and chuck jaw
number 3 in a clockwise direction into other two
chuck jaw leads.
Press all 3 chuck jaws (2/22) together and by turning
the jaw chuck key to the right the 3-jaw chuck (2/23)
will join together.
Tailstock adjustment
You can move with the tailstock (2/16) back and forth on
the lathe board (2/14).
Loose the adjusting screw of the tailstock (2/17) and
fix the tailstock (2/16) in desired position.
Fasten the adjusting screw back again.
Quill adjustment
Centre point quill (2/19) serves for fixing and
fastening of long workpieces. You can move the quill
back and forth with manual handle (2/15). It is fixed in
desired position by clamping lever (2/18).
To take out a centre point (2/19), loose the clamping
lever (2/18) and push the quill back by manual handle
(2/15). It is possible now to take the centre point
(2/19) out.
To insert a centre point (2/19), put it into the quill and
fasten a centre point by manual handle.
The quill scale shows how deep it drills into a
workpiece.
Feed adjustment
Set the turning direction of leading spindle (2/13) on the
lever for feed direction.
Rem.1 Top:
feed direction to the left
Rem. 2 Middle
feed direction OFF
Rem. 3 Bottom
feed direction to the right
To achieve different speed of the feed, you have to choose
corresponding gearwheels (1/1).
Loose the fixing bolts on the case with exchangeable
wheels (2/24) and remove the lid.
Loose the fixing bolts of pinion shafts and take the
gearwheels of the shafts.
Loose the fixing nuts of compensatory holder of
gearwheels.
Choose proper exchangeable gearwheels according
to pict. 3. Table shows needed number of teeth (F) in
the gearwheels for relevant feed in mm/revolution (E).
Insert chosen exchangeable gearwheels (1/1) and
tighten up the fixing nuts of compensatory holder of
gearwheels.
Thread clock
If the pitch of thread which is being cut has integral ratio
against the leading spindle ascent, leading spindle can be
withdrawn (e.g. if one is cutting against collar). In this way
you will always get into the right running again, i.e. the
thread is not cut through. (This is applicable only partially
for precise threads). Multi threads will be cut by adjusting
the top slides to about ½ , 1/3, etc. of the pitch. If the ratio
of the leading spindle ascent isn't integral against pitch of
thread and the leading spindle cannot be withdrawn –
thread clock will enable this. You will set the desired
ascent and insert the spindle in. Then turn it off in inserted
position. Then set the clock in accordance with the manual
(which quantity belongs to which ascent) with relevant
number on the line. Now you will be able to withdraw it all
the time. Only be careful to make sure that the leading
spindle lock will close again, always when the
corresponding number will show up on the clock line.
Longitudinal lathe-turning
The cutting tool is moving parallel with the workpiece axis
at lathe-turning.
For counterclockwise turning, first move the
longitudinal slides (2/5) by manual wheel (2/4) to the
left as far as it gets and move the top slides (2/7) by
the handle (2/12) to the right as far as it gets.
Set the lever for feed direction which is located at the
back side of the machine to position no.2 and adjust
longitudinal slides (2/5) with feed adjusting lever
(2/10).
By manipulating the handle (2/8) backwards move the
cross slides (2/6) to the back as far as it doesn't touch
a workpiece.
Set the top slides (2/7) by the handle for manual pull
(2/12) so the tool tip surpasses maximum workpiece
diameter.
Let the cross slides (2/6) run to a workpiece by
manipulating the handle (2/8) so the tool is gently
touching a workpiece surface.
Now you have achieved the starting position for outer
diameter lathe-turning of your workpiece.
Make sure to deactivate the feed device before
you start the machine.
Make sure that the tool is always centered
precisely.
