> Position the instrument by turning it gently, until it engages, then
release the push-button or close the latch.
> Ensure the rotating instrument is holding properly by means of slight
axial movement after each change of tool.
Adjusting the stop
The stop must be adjusted outside of the mouth cavity.
> Pivot the latch and bring the stop to the desired position. Close the
latch.
Check that the stop is holding properly after each adjustment and each
change of tool by exercising traction.
Check the position of the stop properly after each adjustment and after
each change of instrument; use the ruler.
Do not use the stop for tapping operations : this may damage the bone or
the device if the drive motor does not stop early enough.

6. HYGIENE AND MAINTENANCE

Re-useable medical devices must be re-sterilised by staff with proper
training and protection, in accordance with current regulations.
The re-sterilisation protocol must be adapted according to the risk of
infection.

GENERAL RULES

• Refer to the manufacturer's instructions for each product used. In
particular, respect the concentrations, exposure times, solution renewal
processes and product life span.
• Use only products intended for the maintenance of medical and surgical
equipment.
• Prohibit antiseptics intended for use on the skin or mucous membranes.
Use only products with a neutral or slightly alkaline pH. Prohibit products
that contain aldehydes, alcohols or other products likely to fix proteins.
• Use only products that are compatible with stainless steels (no chlorine
compounds).
• Wear suitable protective clothing. To avoid any risk of infection or injury,
protective gloves must be worn at all times.
• Never immerse the contra-angle in any solution. Never clean the contra-
angle in an ultrasonic tank.
• All handling processes involving contra-angles must be conducted with
the motor disconnected or switched off.
• Never mix products. Respect the instructions concerning disposal of
used products.
• Never immerse the contra-angles in disinfectant baths or in an
ultrasonic tank.
