Before Initial Use

CAUTION!
❐ Clean the devices in the manner described in this chapter. They may still have some
production residues on them.
❐ Keep children away from the packaging material. There is a danger of suffocation,
as well as other hazards!
❐ Make sure that the power supply is switched off when the devices are not being
used.
1. Unpack all parts and check the items supplied to make sure they are complete (see
the "Items Supplied" chapter); also check for transport damage. If you fi nd any dam-
age to the components, do not use them (!), but contact our customer service de-
partment.
2. Remove any fi lms or stickers that may be present from the devices.
3. On the bottom of the base station of the kettle and of the toaster you can wind up or
unwind the mains cable to the length you require.
4. Place the base station of the kettle, the coffee machine and the toaster on a dry,
heat-resistant, fl at surface a suffi cient distance away from fl ammable objects.
Please make sure that the devices are not accessible to children.
5. Plug the mains plugs of the devices into properly installed and earthed 220 – 240 V
mains sockets with earthing contacts. Never connect all three devices to one
plug socket (via multiple sockets). This could cause overloading.
6. Clean the kettle: Fill the kettle up to the MAX marking with drinking water and allow
it to boil (see the "Using the Kettle" section). Then pour this water away. Repeat this
process twice.
Wipe down the kettle and the lid on the inside and outside with a clean, damp, soft
cloth. Then dry it with a soft cloth.
7. Clean the coffee machine: Pour drinking water into the water reservoir up to the max
marking, place the coffee pot onto the hotplate and move the On/Off switch to posi-
tion 1 (see the "Using the Coffee Machine" section). Once the water has fully fi ltered
through into the pot, pour it away. Repeat this process a second time.
Remove the permanent fi lter and fi lter holder from the device and clean them as well
as the coffee pot and its lid thoroughly with a mild detergent and warm water. Wipe
down the housing of the base unit with a clean, damp, soft cloth. Then dry it with a
soft cloth.
The breakfast set is now ready for use!
