Description of Required Inspection and Maintenance
5.1
Hydraulic System
The hydraulic system consists of the hydraulic aggregate with mounted-on speed-adjustable lowering
valve and safety valve, as well as lifting cylinder with incorporated lowering brake valve.
The hydraulic system requires almost no maintenance apart from the recommended tests and the re-
quired oil change.
Prior to maintenance or repair relieve the pressure in the hydraulic system. Lower the fork completely
and remove the load.
If repair is unavoidable on the extended lifting structure, secure all parts (fork, mast, cylinder)
against unintended lowering.
Do not run the hydraulic pump without oil!
Replace the pressure hoses in case of damage or on demand, but at least after 6 years.
5.2
Braking
The operator must fully understand the braking performance is subject to the road conditions
There are four braking types for the truck:
Electromagnetic braking (control handle)
Reverse current braking (controller)
Sensor braking (release braking)
Inertia braking
In emergency situations, the truck must be stopped by electromagnetic braking (control handle) only.
Turn the control handle upwards or downwards to braking range (B1) and (B2), the driving motor is
stopped mechanically.
After releasing the control handle, it will turn into the above braking range (B1) automatically.
After parking of the truck, the electromagnetic braking takes the function of park braking.
In case of control system or driving power malfunction, it is possible to use reverse braking.
Rotate the controller against the direction of driving until the truck is stopped. Then release the control-
ler.
After releasing the controller, it returns back to "0" position and the truck is stopped by motor inertia.
Noting that the ratio of speed reduction is subject to the position of controller.
If inertia braking is removed by maintenance staff and the controller is set at "0" position, the truck can
be stopped only by electromagnetic braking and reverse current braking.
5.3
Electric System
Only battery can be applied as power of the truck. AC power will damage the electric circuit. The length
of connecting cable for the battery should be less than 6m.
Due to danger of short circuit , no metallic objects must be laid on the battery.
Works on the electric installation may only be effected:
with cleared power supply
by trained and qualified electricians
Observe the regulations and standards of electric engineering.
In Germany, VDE regulations do apply.
5.3.1 Fuses
Fuses are located on the electrical installation in the battery box. To change a fuse remove the battery
box cover. Replace failed fuses with a new fuse of the same current strength. Before replacing a fuse
check the system for reasons why the fuse failed.
