6. After successful Manual Cleaning, move onto the
Disinfection steps outlined in the next section.
Disinfection
1. Ensure the EnCor ™ GE™ Vertical Adapter (L) is still
disassembled from the EnCor™ Fire Forward Accessory
(A). Reference Figure 2.
2. Re-wipe all external surface areas of the EnCor™ GE™
Vertical Adapter (L), with a germicidal disposable wipe for
disinfection (for example, a CaviWipes1 or an equivalent
disinfecting wipe containing Alcohol and Ammonium
Chloride.)
Pay close attention to all cracks and crevices on the
EnCor™ GE™ Vertical Adapter (L) during wipe-down.
3. Ensure all external surfaces of the EnCor™ GE™ Vertical
Adapter are wiped continuously, and remain wet, with a
contact time of 3 minutes minimum.
4. Allow the EnCor™ GE™ Vertical Adapter (L) to air dry
thoroughly.

Maintenance
Proper maintenance of the EnCor™ GE™ Vertical Adapter
requires careful handling and inspection. Particular care should
be taken to avoid damaging the thumbscrew and alignment
pins. If these areas are damaged through improper handling
(i.e., dropping, brushing and/or cleaning with abrasives) the
parts may not function properly. Do not use the EnCor™ GE™
Vertical Adapter if there are any signs of functional or material
degradation. Contact your authorized service BD representative
for further instructions.
