Step 4
Use D-Vo Dashboard to verify whether the voltage setpoint has been modified by one of the analogue
inputs, if in use.
Check that the values at the analogue inputs are read properly and that they are consistent with the
application requirements.
If the voltage setpoint has been modified by an analogue input, check the analogue input control system
(a component not supplied by Marelli Motori).
Otherwise, move to Step 5.
Step 5
Check whether the voltage setpoint has been modified by the RAISE digital input (C3 by default) or if
the digital input in question is improperly controlled.
In particular, check whether the RAISE contact is working properly by following the procedure described
below:
1. with the generator stopped, disconnect the cable connected to C3;
2. bring the generator to the rated speed and measure the output voltage (with voltage setpoint equal
to the rated voltage of the generator).
If the measured voltage matches the rated one, check for the proper operation of the RAISE digital input
control system (a component not supplied by Marelli).
If the voltage is still lower than the rated one, move to Step 5.
Step 6
Replace the regulator.
With the generator in stand-alone operation, at rated speed, the voltage regulation is inaccurate and/or unstable (it
is assumed that the first motor controller is working properly).
Step 1
Check the connection, and in particular the power supply and sensing connections.
Modify any incorrect connections.
Otherwise, move to Step 2.
Step 2
Use D-Vo Dashboard to check and/or modify the regulation stability setup, until obtaining the desired
precision, stability and response.
Otherwise, move to Step 3.
Step 3
Replace the regulator.
With the generator in stand-alone operation, at rated speed, the voltage regulation is incorrect and/or missing (it is
assumed that the first motor controller is working properly).
Step 1
Check the connection, and in particular the power supply and sensing connections.
Modify any incorrect connections.
Otherwise, move to Step 2.
Step 2
Check that the AVR mode is actually selected, i.e. check that none of the digital inputs PAR (C5 by
default), PF/VAR (C6 by default), VMATCH (C7 by default) and FCR (C8 by default) is activated (contact
closed).
If none of the LEDs associated with the above-mentioned inputs, in the Monitor area of D-Vo Dashboard,
is one, move to Step 3.
Otherwise, perform the following procedure:
1. fully disconnect D-Vo from the remainder of the system;
2. power D-Vo for an external source, in accordance with the specifications, then check the colour of
the LEDs PAR, PF/VAR, VMATCH and FCR, in the Monitor area of D-Vo Dashboard.
If:
•
the LED of one or more of these 4 states is on, skip to Step 4;
•
all LEDs are off, then one or more of the above-mentioned digital inputs is not properly controlled;
you need to check the relevant control system (a component not supplied by Marelli Motori).
Step 3
Check whether the overexcitation (or underexcitation) limiter has tripped.
If it has tripped, check that the limiter settings are consistent with the characteristics of the machine and
of the applications.
Edit any incorrect settings.
Otherwise, move to Step 4.
Step 4
Replace the regulator.
