Layout
The letter "E" will appear in the top righthand corner of
the display (Fig. 4.1-1).
The operator should now select the Automatic
Demounting or Automatic Mounting Program.
And then select the required Subprogram, using the
relevant selector (9, Fig.4.1-2) (see the Selecting an
Individual Subprogram chapter).
Nota: When the Subprogram selected has been
completed, the machine returns automatically
to Manual Mode.
4.2.5 Selecting Wheel Mode
The automatic programs can be adapted to suit a
certain type of wheel by selecting the different
Wheel Modes available in the User Interface.
The size and construction feature of tires may differ
considerably so tire changer operations should be
adapted to individual requirements.
A tire with a particularly low profile, for example, needs
a different procedure to one with a higher side. Small
wheels with a very soft shoulder cannot be
demounted using the same manoeuvres used for
normal or sports tires.
Press key (8, Fig. 4.1-1) to select the Wheel Mode.
Press it again to rotate the tire type selection option
in this order: NORMAL, SPORT, SOFT.
Conditions for selecting the Wheel Mode option:
NORMAL
This is for tires with a normal type shoulder regardless
of the wheel diameter or width.
SPORT
For all particularly low profile tires (for example /30, /
35). Here, the bead breaking disk pressure should
be lower and the upper bead gripping procedure
should be performed by rotating the wheel in an
anticlockwise direction.
SOFT
For all tires with particularly soft sides (compared to a
Normal Mode procedure, here there are also
differences in the bead breaking and upper bead
extraction subprogram).
Note: At start up the machine always sets NORMAL
mode by default.
