The operating data of the SIPAN 32 PA must be set according to the
requirements of the current measuring job.
The cover of the housing is closed after connecting the sensor and the
energy and communication supply (PROFIBUS PA). After connecting
the energy supply, the SIPAN 32 is ready for operation after a run--up
time of about 3 seconds. The connection is now set up in a PA device.
The device must be addressed by its PROFIBUS address (see section
"Setting the PROFIBUS PA address").
Make sure the device addresses are set before operating two or more
field devices on the bus. Every address may only be assigned once so
that the addresses are unique. An address range of 0 to 126 is possible
in principle; address 126 is set in the as--delivered state. Usually the
lower addresses are assigned to the masters in PROFIBUS systems.
It is therefore recommended to start with 30 when assigning the
addresses to the devices. The addresses are assigned with the
SIMATIC--PDM software via the bus. In such a case, a new device is
connected to the bus and its new address is set by the PC tool (node
baptism) or the device keyboard (see section "Setting the PROFIBUS
PA Address"). In this way, all other devices are connected to the bus.
We recommend that you note the set address with a smear--proof pen
on the device.
Setting the PROFIBUS PA Address
The address range of the PROFIBUS addresses covers the number
range from 0 to 126.
The PROFIBUS address is set to 0126 as standard. It can be set to a
different value by the parameterization tool, e.g. SIMATIC PDM (under
the menu item --> Devices --> Assign Address ) or manually by the
device keyboard.
The menu structure on the following page shows the procedure for
setting the address.
