14. After use, turn the control knob to the
OFF position and close the valve of
the gas cylinder.
15. Allow the grill and accessories to cool
down until they are lukewarm. Then
clean them (see the "Cleaning and
Maintenance" chapter).
IMPORTANT! The device may only be
reignited once it has cooled down. When
it is cold, the fl ashback valve prevents
gas from escaping if the valve of the gas
cylinder is open.
Cleaning and Maintenance
PLEASE NOTE!
■
Do not carry out any cleaning on
the valve of the pressure reducer! It
contains very sensitive components
which could be damaged on just slight
contact with other objects.
■
Disconnect the gas cylinder before
cleaning the grill.
■
Do not use any corrosive or abrasive
cleaning agents or scouring sponges
to clean the device. The surfaces
could be damaged.
Rinse the loose accessories immediately
after each use. The grill should also be
freed of any crumbs, fat deposits or other
contamination after use.
•
Do not immerse the grill in water or
other liquids! Do not place it in the
dishwasher! Remove any dirt with a
damp cloth and a little detergent. The
easiest way to clean the device after
use is in a lukewarm (not hot!) condi-
tion.
•
Pull the rails (11) up and out of their
holders for cleaning.
•
Rinse the grill rack (7) and the fat
collecting tray (8) after each use, and
the rails and the handle (6) when they
are dirty. Clean them with detergent
and warm water or in the dishwasher.
26
In the case of any stubborn dirt, soak
them beforehand in warm water and
detergent.
•
Dry all parts thoroughly before assem-
bling or storing them away.
Maintenance Tasks
Components which carry gas may be
clogged up and need to be cleaned if
•
a smell of gas along with a very yellow
and weak burner fl ame is detected.
•
the desired temperature is not
reached.
•
the burner heats unevenly or the fl ame
fl ickers.
Proceed as follows to perform cleaning:
1. To clean the Venturi tube (A, exploded
drawing) attached to the burner, un-
screw the housing of the gas function-
al unit (16). Make sure that the cable
connections of the gas functional unit
are not cut.
2. Brush off the Venturi tube with a soft
brush. The suction intake openings
must be clear.
3. Clean the opening of the gas nozzle
(H1, exploded drawing) by carefully
sliding in a thin wire. Do not pro-
ceed any further than the resistor!
Do not apply force!
4. Clean the gas connection (H2) with a
soft brush.
5. The connections of the gas hose
should likewise be cleaned with a soft
brush.
6. Screw the housing of the gas func-
tional unit back on after cleaning.
The gas hose must be replaced if it
has porous or damaged sections or the
maximum use-by date (see the "Technical
Data" chapter) has been exceeded.
