drips down does not burn and can be
used as stock for sauces.
Although the top heat gas grill was devel-
oped for preparing steaks, it is also ex-
tremely suitable for grilling tuna, salmon,
seafood and vegetables or for caramelis-
ing desserts such as crème brûlée or
candied fruit. Just give it a try! There are
no limits to your imagination.
Before you prepare the meat, it
should be at room temperature in
order to ensure good and even
cooking.
The cooking time depends on the
thickness, quality, maturity and
temperature of the meat at the
start of the grilling process.
How the Device Is Used
1. Set up the grill in the manner de-
scribed in the previous chapters and
connect the gas cylinder. Follow the
safety instructions when you do this.
2. Insert the fat collecting tray (8) right at
the bottom of the grill chamber (10).
3. Take out the grill rack (7).
4. Open the valve of the gas cylinder. IM-
PORTANT! No gas must be fl owing
out at this point. If this is the case or
you can smell gas, do not start operat-
ing the grill! Tighten the screw connec-
tions and perform a leak test (see the
"Connecting the Gas Cylinder" chapter
– "Leak Test").
5. Stand at the side of the grill and never
in front of the grill chamber!
6. Ignite the gas: Press down the control
knob (1) and turn it to the ON/MAX po-
sition. Once the gas has ignited, hold
down the control knob for a few more
seconds so that the fl ame does not go
out again.
WARNING: If the burner does
not ignite within fi ve seconds,
turn it to the OFF position. Wait
two minutes so that the gas can
escape before the ignition is
activated again.

7. Allow the grill to preheat for approx. 5
minutes.
8. Place the meat in the middle of the
cold grill rack.
9. Hook the handle (6) on the grill rack
and push it as far as possible into
the grill chamber so that the surface
of the meat is exposed to the maxi-
mum temperature. Make sure that the
food being grilled does not touch the
burner (12) or igniter (9).
10. Detach the handle from the grill
rack again immediately so that it
does not heat up.
11. If necessary, the burning level can be
reduced without the fl ame going out
by turning the control knob further
towards the MIN marking.
12. Turn the meat as soon as it is as
brown as you want it to be. In the top
section of the grill chamber, this takes
approx. 90 seconds to 2 minutes.
Important! It is essential that you
use the handle and protective
gloves if necessary to remove the
grill rack.
13. After another 90 seconds to 2 minutes,
leave the meat to rest until it has been
cooked to the level you want. There
are different ways to leave the meat to
rest depending on the size and texture
of the meat:
– you can turn the control knob to
the OFF position
– and / or slide the grill rack onto the
lower rails (the thinner the meat, the
lower)
– or place the meat on a plate and
place this down on the grill.
The most reliable way to determine
the degree of cooking is to use a core
temperature measuring device (not
supplied with the device).
To freshen up the crust, grill the
meat for another 10 to 15 seconds
on each side after the resting
phase.
