kontakt. The device must not be used
until it has been repaired as this may
result in a malfunction of the device
and can increase the risk of injury.
Follow the instructions in the "Cleaning
and Maintenance" chapter!
No modifi cations may be made to
components which have been sealed
by the manufacturer or its representa-
tive.
Use only original spare parts from the
manufacturer in order to guarantee
that there is no interference that may
prevent the device from working and
to avoid hazards.
Always check the device and acces-
sories for damage before putting them
into operation, especially the gas
hose and the connections. The device
should only be used if all components
are fully assembled, undamaged, and
in working order! If the gas hose has
any porous or damaged parts, it must
be replaced.
Replace the gas hose if it has exceed-
ed the maximum use-by date (see the
"Technical Data" chapter) and national
regulations require it to be replaced.
DANGER from Liquefi ed
Petroleum Gas
When you use the gas cylinder,
note the specifi cations of the
manufacturer or lender of the gas
cylinder.
Liquefi ed petroleum gas is highly fl am-
mable and highly explosive.
The gas cylinder must not get into the
hands of children!
The gas cylinder should be stored
in a well-ventilated place! Liquefi ed
petroleum gas is heavier than oxygen
and, in the bottom of recesses or for
example in poorly ventilated inner
courtyards, it can result in harmful
concentrations of gas or even suffoca-
20
tion if it escapes in an uncontrolled
fashion (e.g. if a gas cylinder is dam-
aged).
If you feel dizzy or sick, ventilate the
room in which the gas cylinder is
located with plenty of air. Go outside,
breathe fresh air and visit a doctor if
necessary. Take the gas cylinder out
into the open air immediately and then
dispose of it in the proper way.
If you smell gas, close the valve of the
gas cylinder and extinguish all naked
fl ames. Do not switch on any electrical
devices and do not operate any (light)
switches. Escaping gas may cause
a fi re or explosion, which may lead
to serious personal injuries, fatal ac-
cidents and damage to property.
The gas cylinder may explode if
heated. The gas cylinder may not be
exposed to temperatures of above
50°C. Never leave the gas cylinder in
a car on a hot day. The gas cylinder
and the gas hose must not touch the
device during operation or be exposed
to direct sunlight over a long period of
time.
Each time that the gas cylinder is con-
nected or if the grill has not been used
for a prolonged period, all components
which carry gas must be checked for
leaks (see the "Connecting the Gas
Cylinder" chapter – "Leak Test"). The
device must not be used if a gas leak
is found.
Gas cylinders must always be in-
stalled, transported and stored upright.
Gas cylinders must not be dropped
and must always be handled with
care.
Do not damage or burn the gas cylin-
der.
Dented or rusty gas cylinders or gas
cylinders with a damaged valve or
other damage present a danger and
must be replaced with a new cylinder
immediately.
