Please read through these operating instructions carefully before using your
contact grill, so that you can become acquainted with your appliance and can
operate it safely. We thoroughly recommend that you keep these instructions
and, if you pass the appliance on, that you also hand these instructions to the
new owner.
For your own safety, please observe the following safety measures when us-
ing elec trical appliances:
1. To avoid electric shock, neither the contact grill, power cable nor plug are allowed
to come into contact with water or other fluids. Water might get into the ap-
pliance and damage it! Should the appliance resp. the power cord or plug come
into contact with liquid, immediately pull the power plug from the socket with
dry rubber gloves.
2. Do not operate or unplug the appliance with wet or moist hands or feet.
3. Before operation, check whether the voltage stated on the type plate corresponds
to your mains voltage.
4. The appliance must stand on a secure and dry surface during use. Do not place
the contact grill on unstable or textile covered surfaces.
5. Do not leave the power cable hanging over table edges so that it can be pulled.
Make sure it does not come into contact with hot surfaces such as, for exam-
ple, a hot plate, a radiator or the contact grill itself.
6. Do not place the appliance near heat sources.
7. Never carry the appliance by the power cable and do not place it on the power
cable.
8. We recommend that you do not use this appliance with an extension cable. Do
not place the contact grill directly underneath a power socket.
9. Do not use the appliance outdoors, on boats or in vehicles.
10. Unplug the appliance when it is not in use or unattended, and before cleaning.
We recommend the use of a residual current device (RCD safety switch) to en-
sure additional protection during the use of electrical appliances. It is advisable
to use a safety switch with a rated residual operating current of 30 mA maxi-
mum. For professional advice consult an electrician.
11. Do not make any adjustments to the appliance, cable, plug or accessories.
12. Incorrect use may cause injury!
13. Never take hold of an appliance that has fallen into water. Always take the plug
out of the power socket before removing the appliance from the water.
