• Wiring rules issued by the mains supplier, applicable national and

• Without prior authorization by the manufacturer, modifications
to the product are unacceptable.
Parts Under Power
After opening the machine or removing the cover, parts are
accessible that may be under power. The machine may be

opened exclusively by an authorized service shop.
Heating Wedge
When working with the machine, be extremely cautious
with the heating wedge. As it presents a temperature of up

to 480°C when operating, it is absolutely indispensable that
operators wear suitable protective gloves. Bear in mind that
the heating wedge will remain very hot for quite some time
after it is switched of at the heating wedge switch or the On/
Off switch.
Danger of Bruises and Injury by the Nip Rollers
As soon as the motor starts the nip rollers there is a danger
of bruises and injury by inadvertent behavior for the fingers

and hands as well as, if unsuitable footwear is worn, for the
toes and feet.
Acceptable Work Conditions
The work zone has to be clean and has to have proper light-
ing. It is dangerous to operate while it is raining, in a humid

environment, or close to flammable liquids.

The User's Manual has to be available at any time at the
worksite. If the User's Manual becomes incomplete or un-

Owner and Operator Obligations

• The product may be operated exclusively by persons who are
familiar with the applicable regulations, the guidelines for the
prevention of accidents, and the User's Manual. The owner/man-
ager shall provide the worker operating the product with the
User's Manual and shall make sure that the operator reads and
understands it.
• The product may be operated only when observed. Welders must
have been briefed properly on the operation of the product or
must have participated in a dedicated training. The operating/
owning organization engages to check at reasonable intervals if
the product is operated by the welders as intended and under
proper guidelines of occupational safety.
• The product must be operated only when in proper state of repair
and for one of the intended uses. Before welding, the welder is
required to make sure that the state of the product is in order.

Intended Use

The Heating Wedge Welder is intended exclusively for jointing ther-
moplastic foils according to the wedge welding process. See Section 3
for an overview of the welding process enabled by this product.
