Storage
At the end of the season or when not used for more than thirty days, the Trac should be prepare immediately for storage. Petrol
can stand without being used for a long time (thirty days or more) but may form sticky deposits that would impair the carburettor
and result in malfunctions.
Danger
Never store the engine with petrol in the tank in a poorly ventilated room where petrol vapours might reach an open flame or spark-
ing flames or continuous flames, such as a furnace, an inlet-controlled water heater, a laundry dryer etc.
Handle petrol with care and caution. It is very easily inflammable and negligent use can result in severe burns to people and goods.
Outside, away from any open flames, drain the petrol into an approved container.
Preparing the Trac for Storage:
1. Clean the Trac thoroughly.
2. Inspect the Trac for any worn or damaged parts and tighten any loose nuts or bolts.
3. Prepare the engine for storage (see Manual for Operation and Maintenance of Engine)
4. Lubricate all the points listed in the Lubrication Chart.
5. Remove the battery (see the part on „Removing the Battery" in the Assembly section of these Instructions for Use).
6. Clean the battery as indicated in the part on Servicing the Battery in the Maintenance section of these Operating Instructions.
Fill with distilled water up to the indication ring and charge the battery completely. A battery that is run down will freeze and
can burst. If possible, store the battery in a cool, dry place. Charge the battery every thirty days overnight.
7. Store the Trac in a clean, dry place and cover it as additional protection.
An annual inspection and check-up by a specialist will assure you maximum performance from your machine next
season.
Note
A fuel stabilising agent is a possible alternative that will prevent the formation of deposits during storage. Add the stabilising agent to
the petrol in the petrol tank or in the storage container. It is absolutely necessary for the mixing ratio on the container to be complied
with. After adding the stabilising agent, allow the engine to run for at least ten minutes in order to assure that the stabiliser gets into
the carburettor. If you use a stabiliser during storage, you do not have to empty the petrol tank or the carburettor.
