4.4.3 Analogue pressure sensor
An analogue sensor with 4-20mA output is required
to monitor the pressure in the system constantly.
Converter models MMA and MTA require an external
sensor. See
Figure 15
on page 277 for connections.
A 2–meter power cable and a 0-16bar sensor are
provided as standard.
The pressure sensor for models MMW and MTW is
inside the converter.
Be sure the following are adhered to:
• Use cables resistant to heat up to +70°C (158°F)
for all the connections.
• The wires that are connected to the power termi-
nals, the pressure sensor (MMA, MTA), and the
contact for protection against dry running must
be separate and have reinforced insulation.
• Be careful not to drop bits of wire or sheathing or
other foreign materials into the converter when
making the electrical connections. Take all due
care to avoid damaging the internal parts when
removing anything inside.
4.4.4 Applications with very long cables
If the cable between the converter and the motor is
more than 30 meters in length, it is ADVISABLE to
install a dV/dt or sinusoidal filter.
The filters extend the life-span of the motor.
Inductance on the side of the motor (dV/dt filter) re-
duces the dv/dt at the rising edge and the phases,
leveling the waveform of the current.

FRONT cable mak-
ing sure not to dam-
age the connecting
cable of the display
and the connector.
2. Insert the cable of
the pressure sensor
in the relative cable
gland, see
Figure 15
on page 277 if the
cable is missing or
needs to be re-
placed.
3. If required, connect
the cable of the level
sensor to the digital
input to prevent dry
running of the pump.
The electrical con-
tact must be normal-
ly open when an
alarm is triggered,
see
on
Figure 15
page 277. Suitable
cable 2 x (0.75 to
2
1.5) mm
. Check that
all the cables are se-
cured, including the
connecting cable of
the display, and
close the FRONT
cover and fasten the
8 screws.
The sinusoidal filter makes both the waveform of the
current and the waveform of the voltage at the out-
put of the frequency converters sinusoidal.
Be sure that the following are adhered to:
• Refer to figures
Figure 16
ure 18
on page 280.
• Install the filter between the converter and the
motor.
• Install the filter as near as possible to the output
of the converter, at a max distance of L1max.
• IP64 grade filters can be installed outdoors but it
is advisable to ensure protection against direct
sunlight.
• Refer to
Table 17
on page 278 and
page 280for the maximum lengths of the power
cable of the H07RNF motor.
