(*) these values depend on the type of installation
and are compatible with all the various types of sys-
tem.
(**) The noise level of the motor can be reduced us-
ing a frequency of 8 kHz. Increasing the switching
frequency reduces the capacity of the converter. It is
advisable to use a frequency of 4 kHz when the mo-
tor cable is long, in order to minimize the capacitive
currents in the cable.
WARNING:
Editing the parameters can cause the
converter to malfunction. Contact the as-
sistance service when modifications are
required.
5.4 Special functions
ART function (Automatic Reset Test)
When alarm A4 PRESS MIN is triggered with the
LED (8) illuminated, the converter performs automat-
ic reset tests on the electric pump.
The system does the following:
The converter enters A4PRESS MIN fault mode with
the LED (8) illuminated. Approximately 5 minutes af-
ter the alarm, the system attempts to start the elec-
tric pump to try to increase the pressure up to the
value set in the MP parameter for the models MMW
and MTW or in the PRESS MIN value for the models
MMA and MTA. See
BASIC MENU (MB) parameters
on page 35. If the pressure in the system exceeds
the value, the alarm disappears and the electric
pump is ready without any faults and with the LED
(8) off. If the A4 alarm is still active with the LED (8)
illuminated, the system runs the automatic reset pro-
cedure described above once every 30 minutes over
the next 24 hours. If the A4 alarm perseveres after
these attempts, the system remains in this disabled
condition with the LED (8) illuminated until an opera-
tor resolves the problem. During the ART attempts, it
is possible to reset the A4 alarm as follows:
• Press (2) to enter MANUAL mode.
• Press (6) to reset the alarm and turn off the LED
(8).
• Start up the pump, press (1) and check that the
pressure reaches or exceeds the set MINIMUM
PRESSURE value. If this does not happen, stop
the pump and resolve the problem.
• Enter AUTOMATIC mode and press (2).
All the models of the converter, MMW, MTW, MMA,
and MTA, have the ART function. To disable the
Unit of
Default
meas-
urement
NO
ART function, it is necessary to disable the MINI-
MUM PRESSURE control (alarm A4).
AIS function (de-icing)
The AIS function is ONLY available for the MMW
and MTW models of the converter and cannot be
disabled.
The following conditions are possible:
• In AUTOMATIC mode, with the system in stand-
by, the electric pump stopped and the pressure of
the system at or above the set point pressure. If
the temperature of the power module is ≤ 10°C
(water temperature ≈1°C) the pump starts up au-
tomatically and stops when the temperature of
the module reaches ≈ 15°C.
• Electric pump already running in AUTOMATIC
mode with the pressure of the system at or
above the set point pressure. If the temperature
of the power module is ≤ 10°C (water tempera-
ture ≈ 1°C) the pump does not stop but continues
to run until the temperature of the module reach-
es ≈ 15°C.
6 Alarms
6.1 Alarms and warnings
When an alarm is triggered or the pump is locked,
the fault LED (8) is illuminated and steady and the
electric pump is at standstill.
WARNING:
In this case, the system is in AUTOMAT-
IC mode. If the converter is turned off
and on again, it runs in AUTOMATIC
mode.
The last alarm is shown on the display. It is possible
for several alarms to be triggered at the same time.
To start the pump:
1. Press (2) to enter MANUAL mode.
2. Press (5) to view the types of faults in progress,
if there is more than one.
3. Eliminate the cause of the faults.
4. Press (6) to reset the system (alarms) and the
LED (8) turns off.
5. Press (2) to set AUTOMATIC mode and the
pump starts up if the pressure of the system is
below the set point. This resets the alarms and,
if an alarm is still active, the LED (8) is illuminat-
ed and the pump is still locked. Repeat steps 1–
5.
WARNING:
• Alarm A1 no water and A4 minimum
pressure are not available in manual
mode and it is possible to press (1) to
run the pump.
• Alarms A3, A5, A6, A7, A8, A9 are
available in MANUAL mode and
when an alarm is triggered, the LED
(8) is illuminated and the pump can-
not be started by pressing (1).
• Alarm A2: if the system is in manual
mode and (1) has been pressed to
run the pump, the pump stops and
the LED (8) is illuminated when the
absorbed current exceeds the set val-
ue.
