5.4 Establishing the Network Connec-
tion

To establish the network connection, the
Ceramill Mikro and the PC must first be
connected via USB.
▷ Connect the Ethernet interface ([2] in fig. 4) of
the Ceramill Mikro with the PC or with the net-
work using a network cable.
The maximum permitted length of the network
cable to the PC or to the network router is
100 m.
▷ Switch the Ceramill Mikro on.
▷ Start the Ceramill Motion Software.
▷ After initializing the Ceramill Mikro in the soft-
ware under
connection type from USB to Ethernet and
adapt the IP address, if required (see descrip-
tion of the Ceramill Motion Software).
▷ Switch the Ceramill Mikro off and then on again.
▷ Initialize the Ceramill Mikro in the software.
▷ After the software has detected the Ethernet
connection, remove the USB cable.
When operating via a network, up to eight
milling machines can be connected and
controlled via the Ceramill Match Soft-
ware.
The PC and the Ceramill Mikro must both
be in the same sub-network.

5.5 Starting the Ceramill Mikro Opera-
tion
The three standard cutters in tool stations
1-3 are mandatory for operation.
In addition to standard tools, sister tools can
optionally be inserted in the tool holder. When a
standard tool has reached its wear limit, the
Ceramill Mikro automatically accesses the respec-
tive sister tool.

▷ Insert the Ceramill Roto standard tools into the
tool holder of the Ceramill Mikro. Position the
tool shank facing toward the outside.
▪ Roto 2.5 is in the spindle.
▪ Set Roto 1.0 to position 2.
▪ Set Roto 0.6 to position 3.
▷ Optionally: Insert the sister tools into the tool
holder of the Ceramill Mikro. Position the tool
shank facing toward the outside.
▪ Set Roto 2.5 to position 4.
▪ Set Roto 1.0 to position 5.
▪ Set Roto 0.6 to position 6.
