Locking the exposure
When to lock the exposure
Lock the exposure by pressing the AE LOCK
under the following cases.
• The background is too bright (backlighting)
• Insufficient light: most of the picture is dark
• Bright subject and dark background
• To record the darkness faithfully
• The subject is in the spotlight on a stage
Locking the exposure
Press AE LOCK during recording, Standby or
PHOTO mode. The AE LOCK indicator appears
on the LCD screen or in the viewfinder. The
exposure is locked at the actual brightness.
To return to automatic exposure
mode
Press AE LOCK to turn off the AE LOCK
indicator.
Shooting with the sun behind you
If the light source is behind your subject, or in the
following situation, the subject will be recorded
too dark.
• The subject is indoors and there is a window
behind the subject.
• Bright light sources are included in the scene.
• When shooting a person wearing white or
shiny clothes in front of a while background,
the face will be recorded too dark.
Shooting in the dark
We recommend you to use a video light (not
supplied). To get the best colour, you must
maintain a sufficient light level.

Quand verrouiller l'exposition
Verrouillez l'exposition en appuyant sur AE
LOCK dans les cas suivants:
• L'arrière-plan est trop lumineux (contre-jour)
• Lumière insuffisante: la majeure partie de
l'image est sombre
• Sujet lumineux et arrière-plan sombre
• Pour enregistrer fidèlement dans l'obscurité
• Le sujet se trouve sur une scène éclairée par
des spots.
Verrouillage de l'exposition
Appuyez sur AE LOCK en mode
d'enregistrement, d'attente ou PHOTO.
L'indicateur AE LOCK apparaît sur l'écran LCD
ou dans le viseur. L'exposition est verrouillée sur
la luminosité actuelle.

Pour revenir en mode d'exposition
automatique
Appuyez sur AE LOCK pour faire disparaître
l'indicateur AE LOCK.
Prise de vue avec le soleil dans le dos
Dans les cas suivants et si la source lumineuse se
trouve derrière le sujet, l'image enregistrée sera
trop sombre:
• Le sujet se trouve à l'intérieur, devant une
fenêtre.
• La scène comporte des sources de lumière
vive.
• Si vous filmez un sujet portant des vêtements
blancs ou brillants avec un arrière-plan blanc,
le visage sera trop sombre.
Prises de vue dans l'obscurité
Nous vous conseillons d'utiliser une torche vidéo
(non fournie). Pour obtenir de belles couleurs,
vous devez maintenir un niveau de luminosité
constant.
