f) Switching on the speed controller
Turn on the speed controller by moving the slide switch to the "ON" position, as shown in the figure in section 9. e).
Then wait a few seconds (leave the throttle/brake lever on the transmitter in the neutral position, do not move it). The
speed controller measures the battery voltage; depending upon this, the motor beeps.
• 2 beeps: Battery voltage <9.0 V, 2-cell LiPo drive battery
• 3 beeps: Battery voltage >=9.0 V, 3-cell LiPo drive battery

Important!

This vehicle can only be operated with two identical LiPo drive batteries with 2 cells each (nominal voltage
7.4 V). Theoretically, you could also use two identical NiMH drive batteries with 6 cells (nominal voltage
7.2 V), but they cannot provide higher power supply to the vehicle.
The undervoltage detection feature works by detecting the battery voltage when the speed controller is
switched on. (The undervoltage detection feature switches off the drive when the LiPo rechargeable battery
is empty to prevent its deep discharge.)
Therefore, only connect fully charged drive batteries to the speed controller.
For safety reasons, if the throttle/brake lever (or the throttle trim) is not in the neutral position when the
speed controller is switched on, the LED on the speed controller will flash rapidly in red and the drive will not
switch on. Release the throttle/brake lever on the transmitter and check the throttle trim setting. If neces-
sary, adjust the trim travel setting accordingly (see section 10. a).
Check that the drive and steering functions are working correctly.
Refer to section 10. b) for instructions on how to programme the speed controller.
Important!
When using LiPo drive batteries, be sure to check the default setting of the speed controller to see whether
the undervoltage protection is activated (normally 3.2 V per cell). If undervoltage detection is switched off,
the LiPo rechargeable battery may be permanently damaged due to deep discharge.
When using NiMH drive batteries, switch off the undervoltage detection or set it to a lower value than for
LiPo rechargeable batteries, as described in section 10. b).
The LED on the speed controller goes out in the neutral position or lights up red when driving forwards and backwards.
A green LED lights up as well when driving forward and at full throttle.
g) Attaching and securing the body
Now put the body on the brackets and fasten it with the locking clips that were removed at the start.
