1.1
Installation Site Requirements
Some locations may require permits or approval for installation. Potential installation sites should be scouted
ahead of time to identify the camera mounting location, available power options, and site characteristics. The
site characteristics must meet the performance criteria of the camera for proper operation.
The L6Q camera offers two power modes that affect where the camera can be installed and the kind of traffic
that it can monitor.
Performance Mode
Performance Mode uses more power than Eco Mode by always keeping the camera on, and constantly
searching for plates in the field of view. This mode consumes more battery, but increases capture rates,
captures bi-directional traffic, and allows for camera installation at intersections.
Eco Mode
Eco Mode uses less power than Performance Mode by holding the camera in a lower-power state until a
detection is made, before triggering capture. This mode extends battery life, and while adequate for most
scenarios, lacks the benefits of Performance Mode.
