1. Double-chamber steel flue insulated with material resistant to 400°C. 100% excellent
efficiency.
2. Refractory flue with insulated double chamber and lightweight concrete outer casing, 100%
excellent efficiency.
3. Traditional terracotta chimney with square cross-section and cavities, 80% efficient.
4. Avoid ducts with a rectangular internal cross-section whose ratio differs from that shown in
the drawing. 40% poor efficiency.

1. Industrial chimney top with prefabricated elements - for excellent smoke evacuation.
2. Homemade chimney cap. The straight outlet cross-section must be at least twice as large
as the internal cross-section of the flue (ideal value: 2.5 times).
3. Chimney cap for steel flue with internal cone smoke deflector.
4. In the case of side-by-side flues, one chimney cap must be at least 50 cm higher than the
other to prevent pressure transfer between the flues themselves.
