FIRE SAFETY
When installing the product, the following safety measures must be observed:
a) To ensure adequate thermal insulation, observe the minimum safety distance from
flammable and heat-sensitive objects or furnishings (furniture, wooden coverings, fabrics,
etc.) and materials with a flammable structure (see Figure 5-one). All minimum safety
distances are indicated on the product nameplate and lower values must not be used.
b) In front of the oven door, in the radiation zone, there must be no flammable or heat-
sensitive object or material at a distance of less than 100 cm. This distance may be
reduced to 40 cm if a heat-resistant, rear-ventilated protective device is installed in front of
the component to be protected.
c) If the product is installed on a floor that is not completely refractory, a fireproof base must
be provided. Floors made of flammable material, such as carpet, parquet or cork etc., must
be covered by a layer of non-flammable material, e.g. ceramic, stone, glass or steel etc.
(dimensions according to regional legislation). The base must extend at least 50 cm in front
and at least 30 cm to the sides, in addition to the loading door opening (see Figure 5-B).
d) No flammable components (e.g. wall units) should be present above the product.
e) The Product must always be operated with the ash drawer inserted. Solid combustion
residues (ashes) must be collected in an airtight, fireproof container. The Product must
never be lit in the presence of gaseous emissions or vapours (e.g. linoleum glue, petrol,
etc.). Never place flammable materials near the Product.
ATTENTION ! - During combustion, heat energy is released which causes considerable heating of
surfaces, doors, handles, controls, glass parts, the flue and possibly the front of the appliance.
Avoid all contact with these parts except by using suitable protective clothing or accessories (heat-
resistant gloves, control devices).
Make sure children are aware of these dangers and keep them away from the oven when it
is switched on.
If the wrong fuel is used, or if the fuel is too damp, a chimney fire is possible due to deposits in the
flue.
IN AN EMERGENCY
If there is a gap in the flue connection :
-
Close the loading door and the ash drawer door.
-
Close the combustion air registers.
-
Use carbon dioxide extinguishers (CO2 powder) to extinguish any fire.
-
Request the immediate intervention of the fire brigade.
DO NOT EXTINGUISH THE FIRE WITH WATER!
When the flue stops burning, have it checked by a specialist to identify any cracks or leaky spots.
