WINDOW CLEANING
Thanks to a specific secondary air inlet, the accumulation of dirty sediment on the glass door is
effectively reduced. However, this can never be avoided by using solid fuels (especially damp
wood) and should not be considered a fault of the appliance.
IMPORTANT: The sight glass should only be cleaned with a cold appliance to avoid it
exploding. You can use special cleaning products, or a damp ball of newspaper dipped in
ash to scrub the glass. Do not use cloths or abrasive or chemically aggressive products to
clean the glass.
The correct ignition phase, the use of appropriate quantities and types of fuel, the correct position
of the secondary air regulator, a sufficient chimney draught and the presence of combustion air are
all essential for optimum operation of the appliance and for cleaning the glass.
GLASS BREAKAGE: as glass-ceramic glasses are resistant to thermal shock of up to
750°C, they are not subject to thermal shock. Their breakage can only be caused by
mechanical shocks (banging or violent closing of the door, etc.). Their replacement is
therefore not included in the warranty.
CLEANING THE ASHES
All appliances are fitted with a fire grate and an ash drawer for collecting the ashes Image 9.
It is advisable to empty the ash drawer periodically and to avoid filling it completely so as not to
overheat the grate. It is also advisable to always leave 3 to 4 cm of ashes in the firebox.
CAUTION: Ashes removed from the fireplace must be stored in a fire-resistant container
with a tight-fitting lid. The container must be placed on a fire-resistant floor, away from
flammable materials, until it has stopped and cooled down completely.
CLEANING THE DUCT
The correct ignition phase, the use of appropriate quantities and types of fuel, the correct position
of the secondary air regulator, sufficient chimney draught and the presence of combustion air are
all essential for the appliance to operate optimally. The appliance must be thoroughly cleaned at
least once a year or whenever necessary (in the event of poor operation and low efficiency).
Excessive soot build-up can cause smoke evacuation problems and flue fires.
Cleaning should only be carried out using cold materials. This operation must be carried out
by a chimney sweep, who will be able to provide the following services simultaneously carry out an
audit of the flue (to check for any deposits).
When cleaning, remove the ash drawer, grate and smoke deflectors from the appliance to make it
easier for the soot to fall out. The baffles can be easily removed from their housings as they are
not fixed with screws. Once they have been removed, replace them.
WARNING: The absence of deflectors causes a high vacuum, with excessively rapid
combustion, excessive wood consumption and associated overheating of the appliance.
SUMMER STOP
After cleaning the fireplace, chimney and hood, removing all ashes and any other residues, close
all the fireplace doors and the corresponding dampers; if you disconnect the appliance from the
chimney, you must close its openings to allow any other appliances connected to the same flue to
operate.
It is advisable to carry out the flue cleaning operation at least once a year, checking in the
meantime the actual condition of the sealing cords, which cannot ensure that the equipment works
properly if they are not in good condition and do not provide a good seal! In this case, the seals
must be replaced.
If the room in which the stove is installed is damp, we recommend that you put absorbent salts in
the firebox.
If you want to keep your cooker looking good for a long time, it's important to protect its inner
cast iron walls with neutral Vaseline.
